The Celestine Prophecy, by James Redfield, sold over 23 million copies and inspired many people on a further quest to realize their personal power. I have read it four times. Each time the profound insights led me to further growth and expansion of my inner potential. Anything that empowers human potential gets my vote.

In the Celestine Prophecy I discovered metaphysical concepts not found elsewhere. I love the book. Upon reading it I find myself elevated to a higher plane. A new awareness of life and its mysteries is what it offers the reader. As Elizabeth Kubler Ross says, “A fabulous book about experiencing life, I couldn’t put it down.”

The First and Second Insights

The Celestine Prophecy unfolds gradually to reveal its insights. These insights I enjoy very much. They seem to work on a personal, individual level, and also work on a wider, collective, mass consciousness simultaneously. This mutli dynamic ability gives THE CELESTINE INSIGHTS their power. This is the beauty of life’s truths. The insights encompass the entire spectrum of human beings.

The first insight, an ancient manuscript found in the Peruvian jungle, talks about the coincidences in our lives. Coincidences occur in the same time and place. Actions and events fall upon one another like a deck of cards stacked neatly. A coincidence makes you notice how unusual and exciting life can be when two or more life experiences come into being simultaneously. The greater our awareness the more we notice coincidences in our lives and their messages and meaning.

What I love about the First Insight is the fact that we can create coincidences intentionally. It means that as people we can hasten our own evolution. The higher our energy level, the more pure and noble our thoughts, the more coincidences manifest into being.

Positive expectations opens a doorway where the environment, people, and the events respond to our wishes. This fits in with the findings of quantum physics which state that the observer of the experiment influences the outcome of the experiment. The first insight of the Celestine Prophecy says if you build enough energy coincidences occur with messages inside of them for your further evolution.

The second insight looks at our progress in the last 1000 years as a civilization. It talks about why we are living. It mentions the reasons for modern comfort and convenience and the deeper reason behind it all. We have intense desire for economic progress. When your understand the historical perspective of our modern materialism a greater understanding of our purpose begins to take place.

Third and Fourth Insights

The third insight talks about people becoming more aware of the energy that radiates from all things. This insight says as we develop appreciation of beauty and become aware of energy we begin to notice more and more energetic exchanges between people.

I like the part where people, in the Celestine Prophecies, are giving energy to plants making them healthier and richer in nutrients. Since I now eat more raw foods I find this energy component of living plants interesting. The third insight asks the question CAN WE MAKE EVENTS HAPPEN FASTER BY HOW WE THINK? In my life I find energy responds to my expectations. As the famous author Somerset Maugham once said, If you expect the best from life you usually get it.

The fourth insight goes into detail about how humans compete for energy and why power struggles exist between people. Why the human need to control others? It is due to our lack of energy, and so to give ourselves a boost, we steal energy from others. How this happens is explained in the fourth insight. It shows us why the dog eat dog world we inhabit involves conflict and struggle over energy.

This insight puts a lot of what I have seen in my working career into perspective. When I worked in the corporate world power struggles were common. I thought it was just ego, it was that too, but it involved more. Many did this unconsciously, unaware, that it was in fact energy they were seeking to feel better. There is much wisdom in the Fourth Insight. It explains why you feel drained around certain people. I recommend reading this insight if you want more information about people and their control dramas. Personally I find the Celestine Prophecy Insights a tool for personal development and empowerment.

Fifth and Sixth Insights

The fifth insight talks about how the universe has all the energy we need and there is no need to attempt to steal energy from people. We can get our energy directly from the universe. Mystics have been telling us this for centuries.

We need to get out of this competition for energy if we are to live to our fullest. The uncaring way we pull someone down, as soon as we do it, there is someone around the corner looking to perform the same act on us. This old way of living does not work anymore. But if we have plenty of energy actions like these are unnecessary.

What the Fifth Insight tells me is we all have personal responsibility for our own development. Instead of relying on an outside authority to tell you how to be spiritual you can do it yourself. We all have far more inner power and potential then we realize. Positive emotions are important for our development. Instead of suppressing our emotions growth comes from expressing our better emotions. Sharing information, kindness, and appreciation are positive emotions that raise us to a higher frequency. It expands our energy field to a great degree. Some people call this the human aura.

This insight says these positive emotions are important, not so much because they help the world, but because they help us in our development and expansion into better people.

The Sixth Insight talks about our own personal way of controlling others. It assists us to come face to face with the dark side that is part of us and transform it into light. This is an awesome insight into the way people act to gain energy. The more aware of our shortcomings, the more options we have of being able to change them.

Looking into our past is often uncomfortable. But everyone needs to do it if they want to move ahead with personal development. Time heals all is some kind of cliche used by some. But time does not heal. It just hides the pain and hurt a little deeper, makes it less conscious, and the battle wounds are still in place. If we have the strength to face our past we can overcome these hurt feelings and become better people.

Seventh and Eighth Insight

The Seventh Insight tells us about the benefits of observing our thoughts. Not all what we think benefits us and it seems like sometimes our thoughts are put into our heads by someone else. By taking a step back and observing our thinking process this makes our mind quiet. If we see our mind in a state we do not like we can then change it to a more wholesome one.

Many meditation methods emphasize taking the role of the observer in our actions. It is a great method of mind development. Each one of us has our own inner guidance. Intuition is sometimes buried deep, and unused, but it is still there. Getting in tune with our inner selves opens up intuition and an inner way of knowing things. Then we have the entire package, so to speak, working for us. Our analytical side and our intuitive minds work in our favor and for us. You get total brain hemisphere coherence. This is the way it is meant to be. The yin and yang join to make a larger, more balanced, viewpoint and expressive individual.

The Eighth Insight discusses our addictions to other people. It tells us how we, in our daily living, get addicted to people. We are attracted to their energy and so become joined with them, in a sense, which in reality stops our growth and human potential. What starts as a friendly alliance soon turns into an ego competition for energy and dominance. It says a lot about giving attention to children. Children are our future, they are like gems, and I found this part of the eighth insight very interesting. The power struggle in romantic relationships is explained. There is a lot of information here. It applies to any relationship and not just the romantic ones.

The Ninth Insight

The Ninth Insight shows you how our culture evolves. I find this the most fascinating chapter in the book. It describes a future for mankind full of hope and empowerment. I like it. Many of the ideas in this chapter I see the self actualized people already using in their daily lives. The world is becoming a better place.
