Affirmations are a wonderful tool for self development. When something is affirmed it is stated positively, like a declaration, with the intent to benefit. The word affirm comes from the latin adfirmus which means to firm. You have a steady thought in mind of what you want the affirmation to achieve. That is you are firm in your decision on what you want the affirmation to work on.
I like to write my affirmations out and place them on my manifesting board. My manifesting board is in my study where I can see it everyday. It brings a positive uplifting energy into my room.
Speak Out Your Affirmations
Speaking out your affirmation is another way to use them. Our voices have power and energy. Sound is a powerful personal development method as evidenced by many good guided meditation CDs and traditional wisdom paths. When we speak out our affirmations we state our intention to the universe. The universe only gives back to us what we put out. Let us put out good words with the highest intention for all.
Morning Affirmations
Here are some morning affirmations.
1. My health is great and getting better and better.
2. My day is beginning nicely. Everything is going my way.
3. I am strong and happy today.
Repetition of an affirmation works like a mantra. By repeating the words it has a chance to become a part of us and work for our benefit. Affirmations that are positive bring an uplifting energy into our day. The energy going into a project has a big influence on how the project is going to perform. Good energy contributes to a useful outcome for everyone. Sensing the energy of a situation comes from our heart center. I treat my heart center like a second brain. It gets my respect because feelings of intuition, the sensing if something is strong or week, gives me an accurate assessment if my path is going to be beneficial or not. All this information come from my heart center.
The Signs of Life
Life speaks to us all of the time. We sometimes have the awareness to understand it. Sometimes we miss the message. The people we meet and the events we experience have messages for us. This I call the signs of life.
My friend worked in a job he hated. He was constantly complaining to me about it and was turning up for work angry every day. One day at work he tripped over, falling on his elbow, smashing it to pieces. His elbow required extensive surgery. My poor friend’s attitude toward his work was unbalanced.
There was once a factory manager who treated his staff badly for years. He spoke to them like they were dirt. One day he decided to get hands on and fix a machine in his factory himself. On this fateful day he bypassed the machine safety controls and crushed his left hand between two metal plates each one weighing many tons. He was heavy handed with his staff and unfortunately fate dealt him a heavy blow not in his favor.
Finally there is the young newly married couple. Happy together but both very busy with their new marriage. During their busy time together they kindly looked after, and kept company, a lonely gentleman very old in years. This senior gentleman was not family, and had no family himself, and one day he died leaving the young couple a small fortune in the shape of a share portfolio. No one knew about the senior’s share portfolio until his will was read out in public.
