Dream Job Defined
A dream job is something you like to do. No. You LOVE TO DO IT! It benefits you and a host of other people in society. Believe it or not there are people on this planet who get excited about their work and cannot wait to get into it. I know I am one of them.
Working in a dream job gives me lots of energy. I used to get drained all the time but not anymore. Everyday is exciting, soul satisfying, and fun.
Career Yes, Job No
A career has it over a job. A job is something you turn up to, like an automaton, do your thing without making waves and repeat the process week after week.
A career is working at something you enjoy. A great many people gain benefits from what you do. The energy of a career is positive. It gets better all the time.
The secret of a career is wrapped up in giving. A job gives only as much for you to get by on. A career gives far more. In all areas.
What you give out comes back. It almost seems like not many people know this. My opinion is many people know about what you give out comes back to you. It is just that few put it into practice. In a dream job you naturally give out more because you love what you do.
Giving is Natural
Giving comes naturally when you have a dream job. You give of your talent, your creativity, and effort because you love what you do. What you produce naturally increases but it is the increase in work quality that is the most important.
There is nothing wrong with consuming. It is wasteful consumption of our resources we need to get a better handle on. It is a fact that people cannot live without consuming some resources. The universe is built for living organisms to consume energy of some kind. Wasteful and needless consumerism is the danger zone.
Working in a dream job consuming less becomes natural. You want to be present in your daily tasks. Your heart is in your work and this is the path towards achievement. WORK IS A DREAM. The high quality of your work benefits everyone.
Selling Your Soul
I used to work in a real job. It was a job in the corporate world and it sucked. It was a long time ago, it seems like another world now, and it was far from being my dream job.
Back in those 9 to 5 days I sold my soul for a paycheck. I hated the job, I did not admire the work associates, and I got out of the corporate scene eventually.
The corporate world can be heartless. I worked in what many would consider a good job, with a decent wage, it had prestige too, and I even got to wear a suit to work.
Here is an example on why the job sucked. A meeting would be called at late notice for an international client at 5pm. The meeting finished at 7.30pm. By the time I got home, had dinner, well before I knew it I looked up at the clock it was 9pm.
Oh my God! There was no time for my family or friends that I valued. These are the TRUE people I really care for and respect. This was the problem. My values, at the time, were in the wrong place.
Hey, if you are living in what I call the corporate nightmare I feel for you. It is not fun if you are in a negative environment instead of a positive one. If you know, deep down inside of yourself, that this kind of working environment is bad for you do something about it.
You know if it is healthy or not. Only you can make a choice to grow and expand yourself or do nothing and let it rot your soul.
Jane Austen Got it Right
I love reading Jane Austen. I am reading ” Emma ” now. Jane Austen is the greatest, arguably, fiction writer in the English language.
Her works include Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, and Emma. She died on 18 July 1817. Her novels still make it into many top 100 bestselling lists around the world.
Why is it that someone wants to read a novel by a dead writer penned almost 200 years ago? Jane Austen knew about working in a dream job. She go it right.
Many of the members in Jane’s family encouraged her to get married and forget about the perilous road of authorship. She refused. Thankfully for us and future generations.
Jane Austen gave us her gift of writing, her imagination, and talent of reading human nature and then putting it into words. Her novels, her art, will remain with people forever. This is what happens when you find your dream job. You leave behind fruits of labor to benefit future generations.
In the beginning stages before Jane was famous she had to overcome a lot of opposition. Much of this was from her relatives who wanted her to give up the dream of writing and go and do what normal females did at the time and get married because it was the respectable thing to do. Jane Austen made a decision to listen to her inner dream, to write her novels, and I for one am grateful.
Ideal Dream Job Day
A good tip is to write down how you want your ideal dream day to be. Begin in the morning and in your mind’s eye see yourself doing what you want to be doing in your dream job.
Now begin to list your dream activities. Then make a note of your pleasant working associates and all the situations you experience together.
Ideals are pictured in the mind not necessarily real but have the possibility of being real. The invisible ideals are the dream job blueprint.
Things must first exist in the invisible before they become visible. Every inventor, actor, and artist knows this. If the thing you want, in this case your dream job, is not seen in the mind first it will have no chance of existing in the real world.
Thoughts are things. I forget who said this but what he meant was the ideal comes first, the vision, before the form.
So take some time to plan your ideal dream day. Allow yourself to be able to picture it first. Use imagination. Use visualization. Put down your ideals in ink on a pad. This in itself is a mini ritual which assists the transformation of the ideal into reality.
Your Purpose is Power
A purpose will uplift and energize you. A purpose gives expansion and life to everything you do.
Your purpose is linked with your values. This influences the quality of work you put out into the world. The better the quality, the better we get at our dream job, the more we contribute to the world.
Job Hunting
Job hunting should be called job hurting. Hunting for a job is a thankless task. It is far better to create your own job and to offer value.
In the act of creating something useful you work for yourself. Once you have something useful that fulfills a need you take it to the marketplace.
Enjoy Your Work
Many hours are spent at work and it makes sense to do work you enjoy. Happiness at a job creates good energy.
A dream job is important because you are making a difference. You now have a sense of purpose and it is fulfilling. A dream job does not seem like a job at all. A dream job is something every person deserves to get into and it leads to enjoyment and fun.
