I have a ritual alter, plant alter(with a Green Tara brass statue).. My husband jokes about how I turn every table in the living room into an alter... I didn't realize at first that I did this, but looking around, it's true. This is my comfort space. This is where I perform my rituals, and meditate, and feel the most spiritual in my home. This energy is also felt by people who come to visit, and they seem to like it. I haven't scared anyone off yet with the pentacle windchimes, and Goddess statues :-) My sanctuary is my living room.
