My Old Teacher
Years ago I enrolled in a metaphysical course. We did occult study for two years and there were seven of us in the group. We learned much. A part of the course was a weekly circle that was compulsory to attend. If you missed one Monday night you were given a warning and then, one more time missed, expelled from the course with no refund. Discipline was a value rated highly.
Tribal Ways
We learned much over the two years and have a lot to be grateful for as this is a very unusual experience to encounter as an urban dweller. It was all very tribal where we had to look after one another, for support and progress, and this was a great introduction to the dynamics of group energy. One discipline we had ingrained into our being was that of helping others. Since then I have met many healers and therapists and I can always tell by how good , or bad, they are by finding out HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE YOU HELPED THIS WEEK?
Modern Tragedy
In modern society we are pretty much all isolated. You live for years without saying hello to someone who resides in the same street as you. It is all a sad state of affairs. Isolation cuts us off from the wisdom and experience of others. The life ideals of care and respect, for self and others, are overlooked or not even valued. Plus there is a lack of understanding on how the spirit works with the physical body.
Student and Teacher
I owe my teacher a huge debt of gratitude. She taught me things that are not spoken of in this modern age. You always showed people forgiveness and took them back in. You taught the disabled when no one else would have them. You spent hours and hours with us in the tribal way building up our value system showing us love and patience.
If you are reading this, my wish for you is, one day in the future you might come across such a person if you begin to put some effort into seeking. If you do find a teacher of this quality pause for a moment and give thanks. You are fortunate and have been blessed.
