Lonely Road of a New Career
Going down the path of career change is a lonely road. I remember my own workplace shift which involved quitting my then current job and stepping into the land of the unknown of a brand new career. It is scary in the beginning.
My friends and the people who knew me thought I was crazy to give up a well paying job to pursue my soul purpose. “Better the devil you know,” was often repeated at me , like a parrot on replay, but I had different ideas.
I wanted to work in a job, no… a career, that both made me happy and made me money. I saw nothing wrong in this. When you take a moment to think seriously about the human condition, and that no one is immortal, in other words, anyone of us can die tonight, although unlikely, it is a possibility since no human being yet has been able to live forever.
Upon pondering this profound state of affairs it makes even more sense to work at something you love, instead of a job you dislike, because the time we lose we can never get back.
It is a mind bending paradox. We exist on earth to waste time in meaningless jobs but we also have the chance, and opportunity , to do something more meaningful with our lives and enter a great career if we chose to do it consciously. Whoever created the human race, before the dawn of time, must have a unique sense of humor.
Career Change Tools
I found career change tools to be a great help. Midlife career change needs all the help it can get! What I mean by CAREER CHANGE TOOLS is anything that will help you remain positive, upbeat, and give you a lift in pursuit of your life passion.
I love books, I always have, and throughout the course of my life have been an avid reader. Books can also be a great tool to keep you empowered, to suggest creative ideas, and to train the mind to be positive when facing adversity.
The Message of a Master
The message of a Master by John McDonald is a book I very much admire. It is a short book and full of profound ideas on how to accomplish one’s desires while living the deepest dreams one is capable.
I first heard about this book online , and managed to read it for free after doing a search, and liked it so much I went out an got my own hard copy to study it better.
Any picture held in any mind , in any form, is bound to come forth. That is the great, unchanging Universal Law that, when we cooperate with it intelligently, makes us absolute masters of the conditions and situations in our lives.
The Message of a Master by John McDonald
The Message of a Master goes into the law of attraction in a unique way, I have never come across material like it before in personal development, and have to give it full points for being totally original.
The power of our minds is discussed, and how we can achieve our deepest desires, by placing the pictures we want into our minds and then bringing them forth into life. Why some pictures come true, and why some do not, is shown in this unique volume.
This appeals to me. Imagine upon thinking the thought and to have it externalized in the outside world, and being able to do it at will, gets me excited about the possibilities.
Our minds are very powerful. But many have given this power away. It is easy to blame outside circumstances for bad luck and life going in the wrong direction. To become empowered once again we can look at using our wonderful minds in a manner that is consistent with our desires. The Message of a Master shows you how to do this.
Career Change Principles
Looking back on my own career change I now notice there were several key principles I used in abundance. These need to be applied by anyone wishing to change into a more meaningful line of work. They are:
*Passion for your new career
*Energy
*Mentors
Passion for Your New Career
Going through the motions will never create happiness. When I do my career change consulting, I ask the question , “What is your current job missing?” It often leads to some soul revealing answers.
A passion is fun, heart felt, and gives you enthusiasm. This leads to right action which leads to happiness. Life is too short not to enjoy it, is an often repeated cliche, but like most cliches it has some truth in it. Place your attention on your heart chakra and ask yourself , “Do I have passion for my current job and do I love the career I am now doing?”
Everyone is worthy of a worthwhile career. You deserve to have fun and to live a life of happiness by following your passion. I strongly believe in this.
Energy
I am big on this one. If there is anything wrong with modern man it is this > a shortage in the human energy supply department. It is common to see people drained, with energy leaks, and going through the motions without heart or feeling. This is a zombie type of existence and I encourage you to rebel against this manner of living.
To make things happen energy is essential. I use many metaphysical methods I share with my clients to boost energy, these methods are from the esoteric and occult schools and differ from other personal development speakers, and are useful to raise energy and to release energy blocks within the spirit. The better balance you have between the mind, body, and spirit connections the more energy you will have.
Mentors
A mentor is someone who shows you the right way. It may not be the easiest way, or the most comfortable activity to deal with, but a real mentor shows you the way that works. This is why mentors are so valuable.
Years can be spent in fruitless trial and error without results. It is a slow way to do things. A watch point with mentors is to find genuine ones, in any field, and ones that are the real deal. It is easy to talk but observe the actions first, as these speak louder than words, and from the achievements of any mentor you will soon be able to find out the inner quality of the individual.
Your Invisible Power
Your Invisible Power by Genevieve Behrend is a ground breaking book in many ways. It is an easy to follow presentation on the methods of mental science as lived by Thomas Troward. This little volume fired my imagination upon first viewing and on repeated readings I always get a little more from it, as you do with any outstanding book.
It is a another short book, but full of useful ideas and writings , on the how to attract to yourself the things you desire. It shows you how to make mental pictures, gives you ideas to produce new conditions, and gives real life examples from Genevieve’s personal quest on how to manifest your inner most heart desires.
The power within you which enables you to form a thought picture is the starting point of all there is. In its original state is it the undifferentiated formless substance of life. Your thought picture makes the model, so to say, into which the formless substance takes shape.
Genevieve Behrend, Your Invisible Power
Genevieve Behrend talks about mental science in great detail in her book and I found it full of helpful suggestions being ones you can apply to daily life. She shows the value of ideas and how to use this method in your own visualizations as your progress toward your dreams. This book has a great energy about it and is another career change tool I use often.
The Secret to Career Change
If there is a secret to successful careers change change it would be this , by another favorite author of mine, Mr Wallace Wattles, who said,
To do things in the way you want to do them, you will have to acquire the ability to think the way you want to think. To think what you want to think is to think truth, regardless of appearances.
Wallace D. Wattles
